Councilor – Lee Phillips

Lee PhillipsLee Phillips is an Associate Professor of Geology at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He is also the Director of the Pembroke Undergraduate Research and Creativity Center. Lee has been a member of CUR since 2006 and a Councilor since 2011.

“Mentoring students in the geosciences is an privilege I enjoy and cherish. Helping the next generation of geoscientists formulate questions and work toward problem solving is rewarding beyond measure. I am fortunate because, as campus director of undergraduate research and creativity, I have the opportunity to help promote faculty -driven student scholarship on our campus. I feel these efforts help keep me abreast of current trends in student engagement across the disciplines.”
